Describe Yourself:I'm someone who has a hard time with the word "NO"why you ask?
If someone has a situation and I may be of some assistance even when I may not feel a 100% I won't say NO when I probably should!
I just don't know what the word NO means??
Most of the time when you use the word NO you either have hurt someone's feelings or you end up being the bad guy because you've said "NO"!!
So I'll have to say "NO" about describing myself, those who know me know how I am???

virginia bennett, Nov 12, 2009, 4:14PM ESTHey Mark, it's Virginia aka here4ya on Daily STrength. Thanks for sharing your webpage. I also suffered something like what you have. Did you have a traumatic event, or did this "just happen?" If it happened without a traumatic event, then I would check into "why?" I'd check into, to start, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Something has made your ligaments lax to where they did not hold your head on! I guess I've never heard of this happening to someone without a traumatic event!
As for me, I fell onto my head from a jumping horse 5.5 yrs ago. I broke my C1 in 4 places. This is called a Jefferson Fracture. Then, 3 years later, I was in NY at a specialist and they did a CT scan while I was under invasive cervical traction, and it was found that when I broke the C1, I'd also suffered "dislocation of the occipital condyles". Meaning, my skull broke loose from my spine and slid forward and downward to the right. It has fused itself there, even tho my C1 never fused and is considered "non union."
The other word for what I have is "atlantooccipital dislocation" (I asked my NSG if it was the same thing.) This is also known, in laymen's terms, as "internal decapitation." But you probably knew that.
I have never had a halo...I was supposed to have a craniocervical fusion but that got messed up with some legal problems (not mine) at my NSG's. So now, I'm going to go see a new NSG at OHSU in Portland, OR. No doctor, I've been told, has seen anyone who has suffered such a Jefferson Frx plus dislocation of the occ. condyles, like I have. I have seen 5 NSGs so far and they all say this, saying also that anyone who has this goes to the morgue, not a NSG. I'm hoping for some help at OHSU.
You can go to my blog at www.jeffersonfracture.blogspot.com
how are you doing now?
thanks
Virginia
